President and Chief Executive Officer
A strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, execution, and achievement, Jim is a frequent speaker at industry events on thought-provoking airline distribution and merchandising topics that address the evolving travel market. An acknowledged thought leader, Jim has been twice named among the 25 Most Influential Executives in the Business Travel Industry by Business Travel News.
Prior to joining Farelogix in 2005, Jim was President and CEO of NTE, an Internet-based supply chain technology company focused on transportation pricing and transaction engines for shippers and carriers. Before NTE, he held several senior leadership roles, including President and CEO of Amadeus Global Travel, North America; Head of Sales and Marketing at System One; and Vice President of Marketing at Reed Travel Group/OAG.
Jim holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management and a Masters of Science in Education from Alfred University, and an MBA from Western Carloina University.
Theodorus (Theo) Kruijssen
Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
As Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Farelogix, Theo Kruijssen is responsible for leading the financing initiatives behind the company’s growth and overseeing strategic business planning. Theo has more than 20 years of international financial planning and analysis experience with both large multi-national corporations and new start-ups. His strength lies in his ability to combine detailed financial analysis with strategic business planning to identify drivers that generate business performance improvements. Theo’s experience includes leading acquisition and alliance due diligence teams, and successfully negotiating start-up operations and marketing agreements in international markets.
Prior to Farelogix, Theo was CFO and Treasurer at NTE, Inc., a start-up supply chain exchange and software solutions company, where he helped to establish business relationships with multi-national corporations. Prior to NTE, Theo held a series of business planning and development positions in Europe and the US including at Amadeus. During his tenure with Amadeus, Theo helped the company successfully expand into the US and Canada through both traditional and e-commerce growth models. Theo started his career with Shell International in The Netherlands as a reservoir engineer analyzing and simulating petroleum reservoirs.
Theo holds a BSc. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University; an MSc. in Reservoir Engineering from Stanford University; and, an MBA with Corporate Finance specialization from INSEAD in France.
Chief Technology Officer
Prior to Farelogix, Tim was Director for PASS Consulting Corporation. He also spent nine years with Amadeus Development Company S.A. in France, where he provided technical leadership for the Amadeus Global Distribution System (GDS). Tim began his accomplished career in the travel industry with Congress Incentive Travel Service GmbH in Germany, where he managed and developed software for large-scale incentive projects for several major companies.
Edna Wehby Lopez
Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Edna’s most recent corporate executive position prior to Farelogix was as President of Amadeus Americas, Inc., the US servicing arm of Amadeus IT Group, S.A., the world’s largest global technology and software solution provider to the travel industry.
Edna attended Columbia University School of Law and the University of Miami School of Law, receiving her J.D. with honors from the University of Miami, where she also was a member of the Law Review. In addition, Edna holds a BBA in Economics from the University of Miami. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and a member of the Florida Bar.
Senior Vice President of Marketing
As Senior Vice President of Marketing at Farelogix, Susan Carter is responsible for developing and leading the execution of the company’s global marketing strategy. An energetic, resourceful, and talented business professional with extensive team building, project management, and problem-solving skills, Susan has 23 years of experience in marketing, product management, business analysis, and software development. Since joining Farelogix in 2005 in a product management role, Susan has very quickly risen through the ranks to increasingly senior executive leadership roles.
Prior to joining Farelogix, Susan held senior level positions with Interval International/IAC Corp., a leading timeshare exchange broker and provider of travel and hospitality services. At Interval, she led software project delivery in support of company-wide business initiatives. Through her career, Susan has held a variety of senior marketing and product/project management roles focused on software applications for data warehousing, government, healthcare, and travel, including four years as Manager of Corporate Markets and Products for Amadeus Global Travel Distribution LLC.
Susan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Dartmouth College and has received a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the PMI Institute.
Senior Vice President of Sales
John´s career includes 25 years in software development with a focus on the travel industry. During this time, he has worked in development environments ranging from large Fortune 500 companies to emerging start-ups. The bredth and depth of his work experience has given John insight into the operational areas that are critical to delivering software products to market.
Prior to joining Farelogix, John held senior strategy and software development roles for companies in the hospitality industry. Earlier roles included running start-up companies in the cruise and travel industry and delivering software products and professional services.
John has a BSc in Computer Science from Sterling College in Kansas.
Vice President of Global Sales Engineering
As Vice President of Global Sales Engineering at Farelogix, Manish Nagpal helps airlines deliver on their distribution and retailing strategies by aligning customer objectives with next-generation technology from Farelogix. Through his 20-year career, Manish has planned, directed, developed, and delivered technology products and solutions. In addition to being a goal-oriented technology executive and leader with technical expertise in software engineering and product development, Manish is known for his ability to recruit, build, develop, and revitalize development and product teams.
Manish joined Farelogix in 2005 and was part of the core team that built the first airline Direct Connect and NDC technology. Since that time, he has played an important role in establishing Farelogix as a leader in airline merchandising. He also led the development of the company’s next-generation airline shopping and pricing engine.
Prior to joining Farelogix, Manish worked at Galileo and Worldspan (now Travelport). In addition to understanding end-to-end airline business processes, Manish has in-depth knowledge of airline products and workflows, enabling him to solve challenges, as well as suggest and implement new and innovative solutions. He also has extensive experience with ATPCO products and services.
Manish holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University.
Vice President of Product Development, Architecture and Airline Solutions
Vitali Ruppel is Vice President of Product Development, Architecture and Airline Solutions at Farelogix. In this role, he leads the teams responsible for building many of the company’s core technologies, including the Farelogix Direct Connect; Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for the Farelogix Airline Commerce Gateway; APIs for IATA’s New Distribution Capability (NDC); and SPRK, the Farelogix travel agency desktop tool.
Vitali has extensive development experience in the travel industry, including specialized knowledge and expertise related to Enterprise Application Integration solutions and technology architecture; web application design and development; and integrations with Global Distribution Systems (GDS) as well as front-end, mid-office, and back-end systems.
Prior to joining Farelogix in 2010, Vitali held progressively senior roles at PASS Consulting Corporation. Most recently he led the direction of the company’s technology strategy and core development activities. In earlier roles, he had direct involvement in development projects for industry-leading businesses in the travel industry, focusing on mobile applications, APIs, reservation systems, and travel agency software.
Vitali has degrees in Theoretical Mathematics from the University of Yakutsk, Russia; and in Business Informatics and Management Information Systems from the University of Regensburg, Germany.
Vice President of Offer Engines
Nadesha (Nate) Ranasinghe, Vice President of Offer Engines at Farelogix, oversees the development, delivery, and optimization of Farelogix Offer Engines (FLX Merchandise, FLX Shop and Price, FLX Availability Calculator, and FLX Schedule Builder), ensuring all engines are highly performant and ready for massive scalability. In his current role, Nate also remains responsible for the company’s business intelligence (BI) and data science initiatives, including the development of future models for machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI).
Nate joined Farelogix in 2009 as a database administrator and was promoted within a year to Director of IT, a role he held until he was appointed Vice President, Information Technology in 2018. As Director of IT, Nate focused on infrastructure operations, ensuring that all critical technology environments – including the systems hosted at the offsite data center, databases, and network infrastructure – were operational 24/7 x 365. He also led change management, orchestrating the release of new code into different environments, including QA, UATP for customer testing, and product; and ensuring the scalability of key technology platforms. Nate was also responsible for the company’s security infrastructure, ensuring compliance with all industry security mandates, and implementing state-of-the-art internal security controls to prevent breaches. Under his guidance, the IT team also managed the development of the Data Tier of Farelogix’ flagship technology, ensuring a seamless interface between applications and databases using its Open Connect. Nate led the support team as well as local and offshore help desks; was responsible for maintaining the QA platform used by other stakeholders at Farelogix for testing; and guided the company’s Business Intelligence (BI) efforts.
Prior to joining Farelogix, Nate was a software specialist at the University of Miami and held several other roles in project management and database engineering. He has a BSc in Computer Science and an MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Miami.
Vice President of Solutions Strategy
Jeff Mathew leads the Farelogix Solutions Strategy group, which provides solutions and technical consultancy for complex customer implementations, such as the deployment of multiple FLX offer engines within an IT stack. In addition, Jeff oversees the Farelogix Quality Assurance team and the Project Management Office. Under his leadership, these three teams are focused on implementing new strategies, technologies, and processes to ensure a consistently high standard in the quality of products and services Farelogix delivers to its customers.
An innovator and leader in the travel industry, Jeff has extensive experience managing high-level projects in the airline and hospitality sectors. Most recently, he was CTO at PlacePass, an online travel marketplace. Prior to that role, Jeff had a 15-year tenure with United Airlines, including nine years with Continental Airlines, where he held a number of development and technology roles. As the airline’s Director of e-Commerce and Merchandising, Jeff was responsible for more than $15B in annual revenue through United’s e-commerce channels and oversaw the solutions architecture and implementation of FLX Merchandise in the carrier’s technology stack.
Jeff is a University of Texas graduate and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
Vice President of IT Support
Possessing robust leadership abilities, Andrew leverages information technology, application, and process design to drive the strategic partnership between IT department and Farelogix business teams. As a result, Andrew is responsible for creating customer value, building competitive advantage, and increasing profit through the Farelogix IT function. Andrew joins Farelogix with almost two decades of technology leadership experience, including Software Engineering; Build/Release Engineering; Quality Assurance; Product and Project Management; Application Support, and IT & Infrastructure at several of the world’s largest financial and marketing companies.
Prior to joining Farelogix, Andrew served as Vice President of Software Engineering at Placepass, a provider of travel technology solutions for in-destination experiences. Andrew has also held technical leadership roles at Thomson Reuters, QuickPivot, Experian, and Conversen.
Andrew holds a Masters Degree in Software Engineering from the University of Liverpool (UK).
Product Solutions and Consultancy
Director, Asia Pacific
Based in Hong Kong, Mark McDonald is the Farelogix Director, Asia Pacific. A digital business and technology strategist, Mark has more than 20 years’ experience supporting large business and IT transformation programs across a number of industries. Leveraging his deep understanding of the airline industry in Asia, Mark is spearheading the company’s broader expansion into the region. He is working with leading airlines to support the development of new distribution strategies and revenue generation opportunities through the application of next generation technology for airline commerce.
Prior to joining Farelogix, Mark was Regional Director, Asia Pacific at OpenJaw Technologies where he was charged with business development and consulting to industry-leading airlines in Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand on their distribution, airline commerce, and travel retailing strategies. He also represented the company in the IATA Advisory Forum. Prior to that role, he consulted with airlines on NDC and ONE Order initiatives. Mark also held a number of thought leadership positions with Cathay Pacific focused on retailing, sales and distribution, CRM, digital marketing, travel retailing, and e-commerce. Early in his technology career, Mark held technical roles with industry leading technology and companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, and Huawei.
Mark holds a Master of Science (Management) degree from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Queensland, Australia. Most recently, Mark earned an Aviation Strategy and Leadership certificate from US-based Stanford University’s Centre for Professional Development.
