Farelogix Signs Distribution Agreement with Air Canada
New AC2U Direct Connect to Provide Travel Agency Customers with Access to Air Canada's Full Range of Products
September 9, 2008
MIAMI
Farelogix today announced it has signed a multi-year distribution agreement with Air Canada. In working together, Air Canada content including à-la-carte fare products, product attributes and Flight Passes will be available to users of the Farelogix FLX Platform through a direct connect with Air Canadas next generation AC2U platform.
The FLX Platform, which is integrated with AC2U, features a fully functional desktop application for travel agency customers in Canada. A new graphical user interface provides travel agency customers with access to Air Canadas branded fare family products and their unique attributes, and supports the purchase of à-la-carte products and the ability to book and manage Air Canadas wide range of Flight Passes. In addition, Farelogix and Air Canada are collaborating to ensure all new upcoming product innovations offered by the airline are made available in the FLX Platform as soon as they become available.
Being able to offer Air Canadas full range of content and unique product to our travel agency customers is a true win-win for all involved, said Jim Davidson, CEO of Farelogix. Travel agents need convenient and productive access to a wide variety of content to be able to service their customers, and Air Canada needs to be able to distribute their full range of products in the most effective manner. By introducing these new desktop applications to our Canadian customers, we are enabling them to view and book Air Canadas exclusive content.
Air Canada and Farelogix have been working together for a number of months to develop a distribution partnership that provides Air Canada with greater access to merchandized distribution, and at the same time provides options to Canadian travel agencies, said Graham Wareham, General Manager, Product Distribution at Air Canada. This is another example of Air Canadas commitment to enabling efficient access solutions to our content for Canadian travel agencies.
The FLX Platform and integrated desktop solutions will enable travel agency customers to shop, price, book and service Air Canada domestic, U.S. transborder and international itineraries and fares; as well as the ability to book and manage Air Canadas complete range of Flight Pass products. The new desktops provide customers à-la-carte pricing with the ability to choose product attributes they wish to pay for, such as advance seat assignment on the lowest Tango fares, onboard meals and lounge access, or to opt-out of checking baggage, refund-ability and frequent flyer mile accumulation for a discount off the published fare.
