Hawkeye Source Code Download

Worth Waiting For: New Version of Hawkeye Coming Soon!

Attention Developers: the Project Hawkeye code is being updated to reflect over 10 months of enhancements. New code and schemas will be posted by June 1, 2010. So, while the existing Hawkeye code and schemas are still available for download as noted below, we strongly recommend waiting for the newer files if you can – it will be worth it! Simply check back on this site for updates.

Hawkeye is an open source travel industry point of sale application, for which the source code is available for free download.

Hawkeye uses an object-oriented and multi-tier architecture using Microsoft ASP.NET, C#, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, and XML.  Multiple web browsers are supported including Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or greater, Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or greater, Apple Safari, and Google Chrome.  Data is accessed through web services with a rich XML Schema design to support complex shopping, booking and reservation management.

The Hawkeye point of sale application can be developed for use against any travel reservation source. Farelogix customers may use Hawkeye to access travel inventory through the proprietary Farelogix FLX™ platform, whereas non-Farelogix customers may elect to use Hawkeye against their own connections to travel inventory sources. Regardless of your ultimate travel reservation source, or whether or not you are a Farelogix customer, all Hawkeye developers have the option to freely test against the Farelogix Test Environment, as described later on this page.

Where to Get Hawkeye
You can download Hawkeye from this website (see link below), or using www.sourceforge.net (Project Name = Hawkeye FLX Travel POS, Project ID – hawkeyeflx).

You should plan to have a high-speed Internet connection (T3, T1, xDSL, cable modem). Trying to download Hawkeye will most likely be a frustrating experience with a dial-up modem connection.

Setting Up Your Development Environment
Please see the latest Hawkeye FAQ’s available from the Help section of this website for information on setting up your Hawkeye Development Environment.

The Hawkeye Test Environment
To facilitate developer testing with Hawkeye, Farelogix has provided a Hawkeye Test Environment that simulates an actual Farelogix FLX platform environment including “fictitious” supplier connections. This enables complete developer testing of Hawkeye functionality without actually hitting a true supplier reservation system.

For more information on the Hawkeye Test Environment, see the latest FAQ’s available from the Help section of this website.

Technical Support
When you download the Hawkeye open source application, please note that you are not automatically entitled to technical support.  There are a number of resources available if you need help with Hawkeye, including the schemas that accompany the download, downloadable documentation from this website, community forums, and optional support packages available for purchase from Farelogix.
